Buggy tour in Marrakech: Can-Am rides in the Agafay Desert

A buggy tour 25 km from Marrakech, on the ochre trails of the Agafay Desert: Can-Am Maverick X3 turbo with 2 or 4 seats, 1 hour from 2,000 DH or 2 hours from 3,000 DH per vehicle. Helmet, harness, guide and tea break included, no licence needed.

Agafay Desert buggy hire, 2 or 4 seats, with a guide

A buggy (also called a dune buggy, SSV or side-by-side) is the most comfortable way to discover the Agafay Desert: you sit strapped in with a 4-point harness, protected by a roll cage, and share the ride with your passenger. Our two Can-Am Maverick X3s are 900 cc turbo machines with Fox Racing suspension and 4×4 drive: they eat up rocks and riverbeds without effort, and stay easy to drive from the first few minutes.

The 1-hour ride is enough to get a taste of the ochre plateaus and build confidence; 2 hours takes you further, out to the Berber camp for the tea break and photos facing the High Atlas. Beyond that, the half-day, the sunset ride and our full-day raids open up Lake Takerkoust, the Kik Plateau and the villages of the Atlas.

No licence is required: the trails are private. The guide leads the way, sets the pace to suit the group and stops at the viewpoints. Children ride as passengers from age 6, and the 4-seater buggy lets the whole family share one vehicle with a single driver aged 16 or over.

Half-day buggy tour in Agafay

The most complete ride from the base: four hours on site including around three hours of driving, linking several Agafay landscapes – plateaus, riverbeds and viewpoints over the Atlas – with a proper tea break at the Berber camp. Long enough to see it all, short enough to free up your afternoon.

Quad and buggy combo

Within a group, preferences split fast: some want to sit strapped in, two or four abreast; others want their own handlebars. This option refuses to decide for you. You build your own convoy from buggies and quads, everyone leaves at the same time behind the same guide, and nobody waits their turn.

The right format to get a taste of a raid without giving up the whole day.

Our most complete raid: two days between the High Atlas and the Agafay Desert, starting from our base in Oumnass. Day 1: the trails of the Kik Plateau, the descent into the Moulay Brahim valley and lunch in a family home, then Asni and a night in a boutique hotel in Ouirgane. Day 2: on to Amizmiz, lunch in Toulkine, then the stony terrain of Agafay before the return.

Who is the buggy for?

Couples who want to share one vehicle, families with children (the 4-seater is made for it), groups of friends after the thrill of a real turbo, and anyone who would rather sit strapped in than straddle a quad. No experience needed.
